Students interested in a career in the minerals and energy sectors are encouraged to register directly with QMEA. The QMEA Student Pathway Chart is a good place to start your understanding about the different entry points available. Registration allows QMEA to contact you directly with information about:
- Participation at engineering camps
- Events for girls – 4Girls2, Toolkit for Girls
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs in entry level certificates in mining, energy, electrical generation and gas
- Site visits to mines, power stations and gas fields
- Student scholarships for training (trade) and tertiary (university) entry

- School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs)
- University and TAFE visits
- Opportunities for work experience in the industry
- Attendance at state, national and international conferences
- Be notified directly of upcoming apprenticeship positions
