Student School Speech Night Prizes

The QMEA Student Prizes acknowledge one student from each year level – 10, 11 and 12, who demonstrates an interest in pursuing a career (Skilled Operator, Trade, Technical, Professional) in the minerals or energy sectors. Details of prize winners must be submitted to QMEA no later than Friday 16 September 2011.
Students must be registered with QMEA. Students nominated for these prizes must have participated in at least one QMEA event throughout the year. Schools may also consider student involvement in QMEA activities prior to year 10.
The successful awardees are chosen at the discretion of each school based on the following guidelines:
- demonstrated interest in career in minerals and energy sector
- demonstrated performance in one or more minerals and energy subjects – namely Maths B & C, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, Engineering Technology, Geography and/or appropriate VET courses
- demonstrated participation in extra-curricular minerals and energy activities.
The QMEA student prizes are:
- Year 10 $200.00
- Year 11 $300.00
- Year 12 $500.00
Each prize winner will also receive a certificate and QMEA badge.
