Stanwell_Nanango SHS Environmental Project

The Stanwell and Nanango State High School Environmental Management Project was established for the purpose of:

  • providing real world opportunities for students to gain the necessary skills and knowledge that could lead to an environmentally focussed career in the resources sector and
  • providing industry with an opportunity to implement some of their existing environmental management strategies through a community engagement approach.

The project started in 2010 and will continue for two more years – 2011 and 2012. This project is based on a commercial arrangement between Stanwell and Nanango State High School. Under this arrangement, the school will expend funds to propagate seedlings and cultivate tingids to sell back to TE as a means of covering expenditure and developing income for project expansion.
